The tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) can be a medically necessary or purely cosmetic surgery. The procedure is usually performed after extreme weight loss or pregnancy, if the stretched tissue does not return to its normal shape. The extra sagging skin of the abdomen is removed and the skin of the upper abdomen is tightened. Tightening of the muscles and the removal of excess fat is also possible in the same procedure. During the procedure the navel is removed and then replaced into a proper position. There will be a scar between the hips, above the pubic hairline, and a hardly noticeable scar around the navel.

In case of a very large tummy tuck (for example if the patient has lost a considerable amount of weight with the help of a gastric band) the price might be higher and the minimum stay in Budapest longer.

If necessary, liposuction on the sides can be performed as well. In some cases abdominoplasty can be performed together with either a thigh lift or an upper arm lift.
