Patient Itinerary

 

 

Arrival - Patient arrives at Ferihegy airport (either Terminals 1 or 2). A hostess will wait for you in the arrivals area with your name on a board and she will take you to your taxi. The driver will take you to your accommodation and the airport transfer is free of charge.  Most patients arrive the day before their surgery, and should you arrive in the morning you will be taken to the clinic in the afternoon for your pre-op tests and taken back to your accommodation.  However, should you arrive late afternoon or early evening it is more likely that you will have all of your pre-op tests done the day of the surgery. 

 

Day of Surgery – A Perfect Contour representative will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the clinic.  Once there you will be settled into your room.  The surgeon will then take you through the procedure, your expectations, and he will answer any queries or questions you may have. The surgeon will talk you through the various paperwork that needs to be signed by you:

 

• Information on your surgery
• Information on anaesthetic procedures
• Declaration of consent to surgical intervention
• Agency Agreement

 

You will then be asked to pay for the surgery in full, either by cash or by credit card (Visa or Mastercard). You will then either have your pre-op tests if they were not carried out the day before. Once the results of the tests have come through you will be taken through to surgery. 

 

Depending upon the surgery, you could spend up to 3 nights at the clinic.  You will be checked regularly by the nurses throughout the day and night and your surgeon will check on you daily. Before you are discharged the surgeon will give you a thorough check-up and a Perfect Contour representative will be there to take you back to your accommodation.  The clinic will provide you with adequate medication (pain relief, antibiotics if necessary). 

 

Post surgical check ups - You will be brought back to the clinic at least once more (if you stay in Budapest longer you will have several check ups) before you leave Budapest for your final check-up by the surgeon. Depending on how long you have stayed in Budapest, the surgeon might be able to remove your stitches.  However, in most cases patients visit their GP or nurse at home usually 14 days after surgery for stitch removal. Should you have any problems or queries during your stay you will be taken back to the clinic or surgeon’s private consultation room by a Perfect Contour representative.  A Perfect Contour representative will be on hand throughout your stay in Budapest.  During your final check-up the surgeon will give you your discharge papers (in English).  Depending on the type of surgery you have, you will be required to wear compression garments for approximately 4 to 6 weeks after surgery.  It is very important you follow the surgeon’s instructions on aftercare once you return home.

 

On the day of your departure, you will be taken to the airport (you should allow a minimum of 2 hours at the airport for check-in, security, etc).
